James Anthony Dalton III
Jim Dalton started in the family business at the age of 10, working as a part-time employee filling oil drums, pumping gas, and washing fuel trucks. He graduated from California State University, Chico with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business and furthered his education with a Master's Degree in Psychology. After college, he pursued a career as a high school teacher and principal.
After 12 years in education, Jim returned to the family business and has been involved in the growth and development of the Royal Petroleum Company since 1980. Jim is currently the Royal Petroleum President. He is the Past-President of the Alliance Petroleum Corporation with 108 petroleum jobbers as members and previously served on the Board of Directors of the California Independent Oil Marketers Association representing over 230 members statewide. Currently, Jim is on the Board of Directors of the Northern California Engineering Contractors' Association.
Carl Clifton Hill III
Clif Hill is Royal Petroleum's Secretary/Treasurer and serves as the Chairman of the Board of Directors. Clif holds a B.S. in Math from the University of Texas, Austin and a Master's Degree in Engineering from the Naval Post Graduate School of Monterey, CA.
He joined the Royal Petroleum Company in 1994, following a 30-year career in the U.S. Navy, retiring at the rank of Captain. With his engineering education and experience, he deals primarily with the operational and fiscal aspects of the company. Since assuming the position of Board Chairman, he has focused primarily on programs to gradually upgrade the company's infrastructure. Emphasis on sound infrastructure is integral to both Jim and Clif's vision of creating a progressive organization while maintaining a family owned business corporate culture.
